Meghann Fahy, along with her costars in the second season of HBO's "White Lotus," won Best Ensemble in a Drama Series. It's the first major award for the 32-year-old rising star.

Fahy played Daphne Sullivan in the black comedy-drama series, and her nuanced portrayal of the layered housewife has solidified her as one of the breakout stars in the series. Fahy has also starred in "One Life To Live" and had numerous roles in other shows and films.

While the win was huge for Fahy and the rest of the "White Lotus" cast, it also provided the night's most memborable moment when co-star Aubrey Plaza stole the show without saying a word.

As the actors took turns saying their thanks, Plaza stood near the back and struggled to prevent a wardrobe malfunction. Later, cameras caught her annoyed expression as her castmates maneuvered around the microphone. The clip of her frustratedly mouthing the words "Jesus Christ" became an instant meme on social media.

Fahy isn't the only person from Massachusetts to pick up some major hardware this award season.

Daniel Kwan, who's from Westborough, and and his directing partner Daniel Scheinert won Best Director at the Golden Globes earlier this month for their beauatifully inventive film "Everything Everywhere All At Once."

The directorial team, who work under the name The Daniels, met while attending Emerson College.
